Tayor Wessing is gearing up for a "soft launch" re-opening of its U.K. offices at the beginning of August, according to the firm's managing partner.

At present, the firm is running a pilot scheme trialling a return to work over the next few weeks with a small group of people who have specifically said they would prefer to return to the office.

In a statement, Taylor Wessing managing partner Shane Gleghorn said: "We will be using this period to gain feedback on the safety precautions, new working measures and supporting solutions we've put in place for a wider return to the office.

"The success of our infrastructure over the past few months has meant that we've been in no rush to get back into our offices."

Currently, around 20 to 30 people are going to the firm's London office each day, according to Gleghorn.

A spokesperson for Taylor Wessing added that the firm has implemented temperature checks, social distancing and hygiene measures and meeting room restrictions in preparation for returning staff.

The firm is aiming to open its doors for a wider return, described as a "soft launch" by Gleghorn, on August 3.

The re-opening itself is subject to a number of requirements including government guidance approval and a successful pilot.

Taylor Wessing is the lastest firm to make preparations for an office return. Ashurst opened its doors to staff at the beginning of July, complete with temperature checks at the entrance and perspex screens for reception desks.

Other firms to have also reopened their London bases include Slaughter and May, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters.
