Pinsent Masons' Flexi-Lawyer Service Vario Raids LOD For German Leadership Duo
The duo arrives from rivals Lawyers On Demand, where they have headed German operations since 2018.

Pinsent Masons has hired a duo in Munich to head its Vario flexi-lawyering arm in Germany.
Carl Renner and Michael Zollner will join in October from rival contract legal services business Lawyers On Demand (LOD), which they have led in Germany since 2018, Pinsents said in a statement.
Pinsents established Vario in Germany late last year by acquiring Xenion Legal and Xenia, which offered freelance and managed legal services.
"Flexible legal resourcing is new to much of the German market and businesses increasingly recognise the value that Pinsent Masons can provide," Renner said in the statement.
German in-house legal teams are under increasing pressure as they adapt to growing legislative and compliance demands, according to Michael Zollner.
The news comes as Eversheds Sutherland said it is looking to gain a foothold in Europe with its alternative legal services provider, Konexo, targeting a base in the Netherlands or Germany.
Over the last three years, Vario has experienced year-on-year revenue growth of between 30 and 45 percent, according to Pinsents.
Vario works with over 1000 legal professionals across Europe and Asia Pacific, making it the largest law firm-backed provider of flexible legal professionals, according to the firm.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
