Simmons Unveils Smallest Partner Promotions Round Since 2009
The firm had delayed its promotions round amid COVID-19 disruption.

Simmons & Simmons has added six lawyers to its partnership in its smallest promotions round for more than a decade.
The promotions round, about the third of the size of last year's, features two London lawyers as well as one in Bristol, one in Hong Kong and two in Continental Europe.
It is the lowest number of partners added since 2009, when four were promoted, according to Law.com International research.
Senior partner Colin Passmore said he was confident the lawyers would "help us to navigate these turbulent times and continue to grow and strengthen our market-leading offering across the globe".
Over half of the new partners are women, which Passmore said demonstrated "the firm's commitment to gender diversity within the partnership and the legal profession as a whole".
In April, the firm joined Ashurst in delaying its partner promotions round amid the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
