Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom Hong Kong partner Julie Gao has advised Chinese housing site KE Holdings Inc. on a $2.1 billion listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The deal was the largest U.S. listing from a Chinese company in two years. Han Kun Law Offices Beijing partners Chao Yijun, Vincent Liu and Wang Jin were the company's Chinese counsel. Davis Polk & Wardwell Hong Kong partner Li He and Beijing partner Howard Zhang represented the underwriters. Jingtian & Gongcheng Beijing partners Gao Xiang, Zhu Wangying and Tian Mingzi advised the banks on Chinese law. [Read full story]
Skadden Hong Kong partner Julie Gao and Shanghai partner Haiping Li represented Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Li Auto Inc. on a $1.5 billion initial public offering on Nasdaq. Han Kun Beijing partners Lu Zaiguang and Wang Jin acted for the issuer on Chinese law. Kirkland & Ellis Hong Kong partners David Zhang and Steve Lin advised the underwriters with King & Wood Mallesons Beijing partners Gong Mulong, Ma Tianning and Hu Jing as Chinese counsel.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
