The recent spree of team poachings from domestic and international law firms by Australian midtier firm Thomson Geer is aimed at bolstering its capabilities to attract more inbound investment clients as it strives to become a major firm.

At the same time, the firm is investing in legal processing services to attract more high-volume legal services work, and is considering altering its structure, splitting into a corporate structure to house the high-volume work and a partnership for the more complex legal work, chief executive partner Adrian Tembel said in an interview with Law.com International.
