The Brazilian law firm Trench Rossi Watanabe, which has a cooperation agreement with Baker McKenzie, has helped the Brazilian subsidiary of China's State Power Investment Corp. enter into an agreement to acquire 33% of the capital in two thermoelectric power plants in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Brazilian firm Mattos Filho represented the seller, Gás Natural Açu, and its shareholders: German conglomerate Siemens, British oil giant BP and Brazilian logistics company Prumo.
