On September 15, 2020, London's High Court has handed down its judgment in the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) business-interruption insurance coverage test case, finding in favor of the policyholders on the majority of critical issues. 
Global insurer QBE announced that it is planning to appeal the U.K test case judgment on whether business interruption policies should cover losses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The judgment would expose QBE to around $170 million in additional claims.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
