The European Commission has launched an infringement procedure against the U.K., accusing it of breaking international law with its plans to adopt a bill that would allow it to rewrite the Brexit withdrawal treaty after the facts.
The Commission's move on Thursday follows repeated warnings from Brussels officials to the U.K. that provisions of a bill breach the Brexit withdrawal agreement brokered by both parties after long negotiations earlier this year.
