The rollout of trading under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) is set to begin on 1 January, having been delayed from July due to the pandemic.
The agreement has been ratified so far by 32 African Union (AU) member countries who are poised to embrace the opportunities it promises to deliver, and 54 countries previously signed the agreement.
