Australian corporate firm Gilbert + Tobin is advising a consortium of investors on the A$3.5 billion (US$2.7 billion) acquisition of telecommunications company Vocus, while local firm Allens advised the target company.

Vocus, an Australian share market-listed telecommunications company offering fiber and network solutions connecting all Australian mainland capitals with Asia and the U.S., has announced a proposed scheme under which 100% of Vocus would be acquired by the consortium, with Vocus shareholders receiving A$5.50 cash per Vocus share.
