Webber Wentzel and Linklaters are acting as mining giant Anglo American announces its intention to demerge its thermal coal operations in South Africa to a new holding company called Thungela Resources.
It said in a statement on its website that the move is subject to approval by shareholders on May 5, following Anglo American’s annual general meeting.
