With all the discussion about mandatory vaccinations before employees can return to the workplace, commentators in the legal industry seem mostly to be focusing on what global policy a firm should adopt. There has been little commentary about national laws, local Government guidance, differences in the status of the pandemic, and the effect on workplace culture.

For law firms with a U.S. presence, including those headquartered in the U.S., we are all having serious discussions internally about whether to implement a mandatory vaccination policy, and if so whether to make it global. Much of the talk and decision-making often centres around HR policy and local law and guidance surrounding the vaccine.  However, an important aspect is often over-looked: culture (both in the workplace and outside).
