The U.K. media is awash with reports of dwindling wholesale gas supplies, leading to ongoing crisis talks between some of the U.K.’s largest energy companies and the Government.

Customers of smaller, collapsed businesses are now flooding to the bigger energy companies, including the U.K.’s ‘Big Six’ providers British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON U.K., npower, ScottishPower and SSE. In turn, these larger companies have told the U.K. Government that they themselves are overwhelmed by the soaring prices and an influx of new consumers.
