Slaughter and May has elected M&A head Roland Turnill as its next senior partner.

According to a firm statement on Tuesday, Turnill will take on the role from May 1, 2024, at the end of incumbent Steve Cooke's term as senior partner.

He is currently head of the firm's mergers and acquisitions practice and co-head of the financial institutions group. He joined the firm in 1996 and became a partner in 2004.
