Reed Smith has bolstered its London office with two corporate hires. Paulette Mastin and Paul Regan join as partner and counsel respectively, according to a firm statement. Mastin was most recently counsel at Linklaters and is currently chair of the Black Solicitors Network in England and Wales, the statement added. Ashurst has hired Helen Jones from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. She joins as partner in Ashurt's global transactions practice in London, a firm statement said. Jones has spent her entire career at Freshfields and was most recently counsel. This is the second Magic Circle addition for the firm's London office in 2021, after Allen & Overy partner Etay Katz joined in March. McDermott Will & Emery has hired a corporate partner from Squire Patton Boggs to its London office, according to a statement. Kashif Siddiqui leaves Squires after joining as partner in 2016. His expertise includes cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, investment funds, joint ventures and restructurings. Legal technology firm Syke, which entered into a strategic partnership with flexi-lawyer firm Lawyers On Demand in March, has appointed its debut U.S. head. Trayce Marcelle will take on the role, a statement said, bringing with her over 20 years of experience, including 9 years with Axiom in Chicago.
