Linklaters Appoints Luxembourg Partner Investment Funds Head and Other Recent Moves
Linklaters has refreshed its practice management again while other firms including DLA Piper and Kennedys have added to their ranks.

Linklaters has appointed Luxembourg partner Silke Bernard as its global head of investment funds, replacing Matthew Keogh in the role as his six-year term is completed. According to a statement on the appointment, Bernard joined the firm in 2004 and was promoted to partner in 2016. Shakespeare Martineau has hired corporate partner Jody Webb from Freeths, according to a statement. At Freeths, she was a director, specialising in acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts and private equity investments. Kennedys has hired BLM partner Iskander Fernandez to head up its corporate and commercial division's business crime and investigations team. Fernandez joins after three years as a partner at BLM, having previously been an associate at CMS. Kennedys has also added Antonio Acuña to its ranks as its new head of data strategy. Acuña was formerly head of data strategy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the statement said, and is set to "revolutionise the way [Kennedys] does business". DLA Piper has announced the hire of IP partner Ryan Harrison in Birmingham and restructuring partner Gavin Smith in Ireland. Smith will lead the firm's Irish restructuring team, a statement added. Gareth Wadley has joined Bristows as partner and head of its employment practice, a firm statement said. He joins from Gateley, where he was partner for over three years, according to LinkedIn. Irish law firm McCann FitzGerald has appointed Stephen Holst as its next managing partner, taking over the role from Barry Devereux from April 2022, a firm statement said. Holst is currently a partner in both the employment, pensions and incentives and disputes groups. Disputes boutique Seladore Legal has hired a Herbert Smith Freehills consultant Gary Milner-Moore, according to a press release. The move reunites him with former HSF partners, including founder Simon Bushell and partners Gareth Keillor and Kevin Kilgour. White & Case has hired Clifford Chance longtime partner David Lewis to its London M&A practice. Lewis had been a partner at the firm since 2003 and co-headed its mining and metals group. Lewis is the tenth lateral partner hire for White & Case in London since the start of 2021. He recently took on a leading role for key client Inmarsat on its sale to Viasat for approximately $7.3 billion. Lewis's hire follows shortly behind the additions of Dechert private equity partners Ross Allardice and Tony Brown to White & Case's London team.
