International law firm Ashurst has expanded its Australian financial regulation team with the hire of partner Narelle Smythe from local firm Clayton Utz.
Smythe, who joins the firm's Sydney office, has three decades of experience in financial services regulation and has advised both domestic and international financial services providers on regulatory compliance, investigations and enforcement proceedings and M&A transactions in the financial sector.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
