U.K. sports production company Whisper has hired entertainment company Fremantle's director of corporate development as its general counsel and COO, according to a company statement. Roisin Thomas will sit on the company's senior management team and report to CEO Sunil Patel. She also previously held a COO role at French media company Banijay Rights, the statement added, and was a senior associate at legacy firm Olswang for five years. The Pension Protection Fund has appointed its latest legal panel, adding CMS and Addleshaw Goddard to the roster. Gowling WLG, Herbert Smith Freehills, Hogan Lovells and Osborne Clarke have all been reappointed, a statement said. Miriam Kimber, interim legal director, said in the statement that "D&I values [were] at the heart of this procurement process". Crossrail has appointed its project solicitor as its next legal head. Karen Perry takes on the role as incumbent Susan Beadles takes up a new role supporting the CEO. According to a spokesperson, Perry will report into Transport for London's legal department, while Beadles will support the CEO on knowledge transfer and work on other special projects. Homes England is looking to refresh its £50 million legal panel, according to a tender notice. The panel will be split into four lots and run until February 2026. The panel was last refreshed in 2018 with 13 firms winning spots, including Eversheds Sutherland, DWF and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner. The group legal director at healthcare group Bupa is leaving to join software company Microfocus, a spokesperson confirmed. Janet McCarthy leaves Bupa after over three years, according to LinkedIn. Prior to this, she was chief legal officer and company secretary at Santa Fe Group.
