London-based digital asset custody and trading solutions group Copper has hired Carly Nuzbach Lowery as its chief legal officer. She joins from cryptocurrency group Coinbase where she was associate general counsel, a statement added. She trained at Linklaters and is both New York and U.K. qualified. Theresa Casey has joined Open Banking where she will be general counsel for The Open Banking Implementation Entity, a statement said. Casey was most recently general counsel at online womenswear retailer N Brown, the statemetn added. She takes over from Selene Brett, who was in the position since 2020. Meanwhile, Selene Brett has joined open banking infrastructure provider Yapily as its chief legal officer, the company announced, where she will lead the legal, risk, and compliance functions. Prior to her time at Open Banking, she was general counsel at consumer choice group Which? and chief counsel at insurance group Aon Risk. Digital asset platform Amber Group has hired Ehsan Haque as its general counsel for the EMEA region, a statement said. He was most recently global head of legal and compliance at private equity firm Hamilton Capital Holding, and prior to this, he was general counsel at fintech startup AlphaSwap. Nicole Geoghegan, HS2's general counsel and company secretary has left the body. She joined HS2 in 2016 and prior to this was general counsel for Tube Lines in London, a consortium of Bechtel and Amey/Ferrovial, which was formed to undertake an extensive refurbishment of the 3 lines of the London tube network.
