Pinsent Masons’ former communications head Fred Banning has set up an initiative that seeks to promote volunteering opportunities at third sector organizations to business operation professionals at large law firms.
Banning, who was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer in February 2020, has launched ‘Fifth Day’, which brings pro bono work traditionally reserved for lawyers to the 30,000 U.K. law firm professionals working in areas such as IT, business development and marketing, finance, HR, facilities and secretarial services at the top 100 U.K. law firms.
