The decision reverses an earlier ruling in which Slaughter and May had successfully argued that English courts were the wrong jurisdiction for the case. BHP faces claims from more than 200,000 individuals impacted by the 2015 collapse of a dam at the Samarco iron ore complex in Brazil.
