Canadian law firm Borden Ladner Gervais appointed Calgary-based corporate lawyer Joel Jones as chair of its partnership board. The partnership board of the 800-lawyer firm provides overall direction, oversight, and governance for the firm.

Jones has been a member of the partnership board since 2017 and succeeds Vancouver labor and employment partner Shelley-Mae Mitchell, who will continue to practice at the firm. Borden Ladner’s 11-member partnership board is made up of elected regional representatives from each of its offices in Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
