Eversheds Sutherland has hired the former head of Cooley’s global insurance practice group. Mark Everiss, who stepped down to a senior counsel role at Cooleys in January, joins Eversheds as a partner in London, according to a statement from the firm.

He had been at Cooley since 2015, according to his Linkedin profile, and was previously a partner at Edwards Wildman Palmer and is a member of the Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy Association. Everiss’ experience spans across both contentious and non-contentious matters, advising clients in relation to matters including third-party liability, onshore and offshore energy and financial institutions. He is also works on reinsurance disputes in the live and legacy markets, at all levels of the U.K. Courts and in arbitration.
