US telecommunications company Liberty Global now has a 5% stake in the British multinational.

U.S. firm Shearman & Sterling has advised telecoms giant Liberty Global on it's acquisition of almost 1.3 billion Vodafone shares, reported to be worth £1.2 billion.
The Shearman team was headed up by a London-based team made up of partners Simon Burrows, Maegen Morrison and James Duncan, according to a spokesperson from Liberty Global.
