Two law firms representing automaker Daimler have secured a decision that could help limit the scale of ongoing claims against their client for its role in a Europe-wide truck cartel.

Cuatrecasas and Gleiss Lutz successfully argued at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) that the scale of damages involved in claims linked to the cartel could not automatically be estimated by the national court hearing them unless certain steps had been satisfied.
