Last July, Cuatrecasas's managing partner Jorge Badía died unexpectedly while cycling in Barcelona. In the wake of the tragedy, temporary managing partner Rafael Fontana approached corporate and M&A partner Javier Fontcuberta about taking the role. By Christmas, Fontcuberta was named Badía's successor.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M.
