When Dame Sue Carr was announced as the U.K. Supreme Court's first ever female Lord Chief Justice this week, it was lauded as a revelation, a long-awaited tipping point for women's status in the legal world.
Law Society of England and Wales President Lubna Shuja called the appointment an "historic moment" and expects it to "lead to further progress on women's representation" within law.
