Australian law firm HWL Ebsworth is using the law to try to stop a cyberhacker organization from publishing any more of its stolen data on the web, although cybersecurity experts say the move is unlikely to influence the behavior of the hackers.

The firm successfully sought an injunction last week from the Supreme Court of New South Wales prohibiting the Russian-linked cybercriminal gang ALPHV, or BlackCat, from publishing any more client and employee data it stole last month.
