Government Communications Headquarters, the U.K.’s government intelligence, security and cyber agency, and France’s national cybersecurity agency have issued rare warnings about cyber risks in the legal sector, at the same time as several major law firms are coming under attack.
A GCHQ report on the issue marks the third time in five years that the agency has warned of risks facing the legal sector, and the second in the last 12 months. Although the agency regularly publishes updates on cybersecurity risks online, the legal industry is the only sector-specific group to be warned of such risks.
