Luxembourg has passed a bill allowing English- and Welsh-qualified lawyers to register with the Luxembourg bar to practise U.K. and public international law.

The Law Society of England and Wales said that the rule change had come about following “productive conversations” between itself and local representatives in Luxembourg. The rule change to the EU-U.K. Trade and Cooperation Agreement ends a post-Brexit stand-off between the two nations that prevented U.K.-qualified from establishing a full presence in Luxembourg.
