Though on the face of it U.K. law firms continue to ramp up their efforts to improve disability accessibility, both for entry into the profession and for progression, the issue is still regarded as one that has largely gone overlooked, according to the latest research by Law.com International.

According to the U.K.’s Office for National Statistics, in 2021, the proportion of people in England that reported a disability stood just shy of 18%. But, across the firms that responded to Law.com’s survey, the average disability representation at partnership level across the top 25 firms to have reported on disability stands at 2.8%.
