King & Spalding project finance partner Antony Patten has left the firm to join Herbert Smith Freehills as a partner in Singapore.

Patten defected to King & Spalding in 2020, then taking with him projects lawyer Lachlan Clancy, from Shearman & Sterling. Patten had been a partner at Shearman for almost seven years while Clancy was a counsel there. Clancy, who joined Shearman with Patten back in 2011, remains at King & Spalding as a partner. In 2021, after the duo’s departure, Shearman replaced the loss with David Clinch, Herbert Smith Freehills’ veteran energy partner David Clinch, who is now a counsel at the firm.
