Several law firms announced on Thursday they would match the latest associate salary hikes, including Kirkland & Ellis, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan; Davis Polk & Wardwell; Sidley Austin; Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton; and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, according to Law.com reporting and firm memos.
While law firms were reluctant to match Milbank's associate salary raise, announced Nov. 7, elite law firms have quickly followed the Cravath Swaine & Moore scale, introduced on Tuesday, which pays mid and senior-level associates even more.
