ITV's four-part docudrama Mr Bates vs The Post Office has renewed scrutiny of a scandal that saw hundreds of postmasters wrongfully convicted in what has been called one of the most significant miscarriages of justice in U.K. legal history.

Following the screening, public pressure has grown around the Post Office's former CEO, Paula Vennells, to hand back her CBE, which she has since agreed to do after an online petition received over one million signatures. U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is also considering exonerating wrongfully convicted postmasters by tabling new legislation.
