JSA Advocates & Solicitors says it has hired 20 top lawyers from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co including equity partners Iqbal Khan and Ambarish, prompting SAM leader Shardul Shroff to claim a breach of the firm’s six-month notice requirement.
According to Vivek Chandy, JSA’s joint managing partner, Khan and Ambarish will bring with them five other salaried partners including Tanavi Mohanty, Devika Menon and Ashid Basheer, as well as 13 other qualified lawyers. Mohanty was a partner at SAM while Menon and Basheer were associates at the firm.
