Several sub-postmasters were referred to as “liars and criminals” by a Womble Bond Dickinson partner who previously advised the Post Office, the Horizon scandal inquiry heard on Thursday.
In an August 2015 email to Post Office lawyer Rodric Williams discussing a 2015 BBC Panorama programme on the scandal, Womble Bond partner Andrew Parsons wrote: “POL [Post Office Limited] could however start attacking the postmasters’ credibility by calling out Thomas, Misra and Hamilton as the liars and criminals that they are,” referring to three postmasters.
