Meta Must Face Australian Billionaire's US Lawsuit Over Facebook Crypto Ads
The ruling is the first in which a social media company has been unable to invoke immunity under Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act in a U.S. civil case over its advertising business, according to Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest.

A federal district court judge in California ruled that Australia's second-richest person can sue Meta Platforms Inc. over its alleged negligence in operating in a commercially reasonable manner and for misappropriation of his name and likeness after scam Facebook advertisements showed him promoting fake cryptocurrencies and other investments.
