It’s anything but the usual summer doldrums in Canada’s legal scene this year following the Canada Day July 1 holiday. A burst of lawyer moves announced Tuesday includes a new five-lawyer team joining Littler Mendelson and a new CEO and managing partner at McMillan.

Five new lawyers are joining Littler’s fast-growing Toronto office, including partner Gerald Griffiths and four associates. Griffiths, along with associates Kemi Faneye and Natalie Nicholson, are from labor and employment boutique Sherrard Kuzz, which was also home to recent partner additions Matthew Badrov and Shana French. Associate Micah Fysh joins from management-side Toronto firm Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti and new lawyer David McIsaac transitions from articling student to associate.
