Supreme Court Allows United Utilities to be Sued For Sewage Dumping

The U.K. Supreme Court ruling in a high-profile case against United Utilities Water Ltd opens to door to a barrage of new claims against companies who dump untreated sewage into waterways.

In a landmark decision for environmentalists, the court unanimously allowed an appeal in the long-running case of Manchester Ship Canal Company Ltd (MSC) v United Utilities Water Ltd.
