A sprawling arbitration fight between the government of Malaysia and self-described heirs of a 19th-century sultan is headed for France’s top appeals court after the Dutch Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Southeast Asian country.

On Friday, the Netherlands Supreme Court dismissed an appeal brought by seven descendants of a former sultanate who tried to claim a $14.92 billion award granted by a Spanish arbitrator through a Paris arbitration chamber. The Dutch court dismissed the claimants’ appeal without stating its reasons and ordered them to pay court costs.
