The Singapore government has been encouraging law firms to drive the effective use of generative AI, culminating in the recent collaboration between the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) and Microsoft.

The country’s Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong oversaw on September 11 the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organizations, which will curate and develop AI resources such as the use of large language models. Lawyers will be trained to structure clear, precise prompts to generate accurate and relevant outcomes.
