Qualcomm’s €240 million antitrust fine from 2019 was upheld by the EU’s General Court today, while separately the court struck down a €1.49 billion fine against Google imposed by Brussels officials the same year.

The Qualcomm decision marks another victory for outgoing antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager who imposed major antitrust fines against tech giants including Google and Apple during her tenure. Last week, the Court of Justice of the European Union upheld two of those fines in highly anticipated decisions, drawing a line under the long investigations and handing Vestager two major legal victories as her tenure draws to an end.
