A European Commission official suggested this week that recently enacted laws designed to rein in market power could soon include investigations into Big Tech services that integrate artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.
Speaking at a conference in Brussels on Tuesday, Filomena Chirico, head of the unit responsible for enforcement of the Digital Markets Act and the Digital Services Act, described AI and cloud technologies as being firmly "on the radar" of the EU antitrust enforcer.
