General Counsel and In House Counsel
Paul Peake has worked at a number of prominent companies, including Adidas, Fifa, eBay and StubHub. But he is now general counsel for for the food, ed-tech and e-commerce portfolio at Amsterdam-headquartered Prosus, one of the world's largest tech investors. He leads a team that oversees legal, risk and governance issues for the 25 companies in Prosus' portfolio, from due diligence prior to investment to advice on operational issues ranging from litigation to policy once the companies are "in the family," as Peake puts it. A few days after relocating from Amsterdam to London, he chatted with Law.com International about the historic baggage trailing lawyers, what bugs him about working with U.S. firms and the legal theme that keeps him awake the most.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments.
