An Australian lawyer has been referred to the legal profession regulator after handing a judge a list of AI-generated cases that did not exist.
Federal Circuit and Family Court Judge Amanda Humphreys referred the unnamed Melbourne lawyer to the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner for investigation saying it was important that the regulator be aware of professional conduct issues arising from the AI use.
