Japanese law firms are expanding aggressively overseas, with several big openings in recent months.

Big Four Japanese Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu is set to launch its first European office in London in January, continuing a trend of global expansion by some of Japan's strongest legal practices.
The firm's office will be headed by its infrastructure, energy and environmental, and real estate practice partner Kiyoshi Honda, who will relocate from Tokyo to London this month. He advises on energy projects, environmental law matters, real estate deals and outbound deals involving European businesses. Honda joined the firm in 2004 and made partner in 2015.
