Canada's innovation minister cited unspecified national-security risks as the reason for telling Chinese-owned TikTok to dissolve its business in the country.

TikTok said it will take the Canadian government to court over an order forcing the tech company to shutter its Canadian offices due to national security concerns.
"Shutting down TikTok's Canadian offices and destroying hundreds of well-paying local jobs is not in anyone's best interest, and today's shutdown order will do just that. We will challenge this order in court," the company said in a statement.
