Spending by the Australian government on legal services from law firms has risen sharply in recent years, with Australian firms receiving the bulk of the fees, a report this week reveals.
The Australian government spent $290 million with law firms in the 12 months to June 2023, according to an official report released this week. The figure is up 17% from the previous year.
