The former managing director of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has joined McCarthy Tétrault as a partner in Toronto.

Maxine Ethier, who helmed the organization that oversees investments in Canada’s national pension program for almost five years, will be part of the firm’s business law group. According to McCarthy Tétrault’s website, it has represented CPP Investments in a number of transactions including its Canadian private placement debt offerings and its C$30 billion Global Medium Note Program private placement offerings.
