Fifteen international law firms have closed offices in China over the last 18 months. That’s quite enough. I’m trying to make it through the next few weeks without having to report on another closure, I have my fingers crossed.

So far, it’s been a wave of falling dominoes, the drivers and triggers for the topple are largely the same. I’ve mulled over and reported on these reasons more times than I care to admit so in closing out the year with my final column for 2024, I’ve decided to take a walk on the brighter side.
